A 26-year-old Ottawa woman reported missing in Los Angeles last week has been found and is on her way home, Ottawa police say.
Sarah-Jane Stavenow's family said she was supposed to contact her fiancé, Ryan Kearney, on Nov. 16 when she checked into her room at the Ramada hotel, but she did not contact him and did not show up at the hotel.
Stavenow then failed to board her flight home Wednesday morning. She had been travelling alone and was last seen leaving the Ottawa airport on Nov. 16.
On Friday morning, an Ottawa police spokesman said Stavenow had contacted her family and was making her way home to Ottawa.
Stavenow's mother, Suzanne Andrews-Sylvestre, also confirmed her daughter had been found by posting on Facebook. She said the family was flying to California on Friday to bring Stavenow home.
