Woman in hospital after being hit by truck
Police investigating crash; alcohol, excessive speed not believed to be factors

A 69-year-old woman suffered life-threatening head injuries after she and two others, including a child in a stroller, were struck by a pickup truck.
The woman was walking the child with a 68-year-old man when they were struck at 9:23 a.m. Wednesday morning at the intersection of Centrepointe and Tallwood drives.

The man was treated for arm and rib injuries and is in stable condition in hospital.
The 17-month-old girl in the stroller was treated for minor scrapes and bruises, paramedics said.
The driver of the truck, a 49-year-old man from Ottawa, was not injured.
The Ottawa police's collision unit is now investigating the crash but they do not believe excessive speed or alcohol were factors in this collision.
Police are looking for witnesses and they are asking them to call 613-236-1222, ext. 2481 or Crime Stoppers at 613-233-8477.
Area roads were closed for a time but they were reopened.
