Two people are recovering in hospital after their car crashed on Sunday at an intersection in Kanata.
The car was turned over on its roof near the intersection of Kakulu Road and Castlefrank Road when emergency responders responded to the scene just after 5 p.m. Sunday.
Ottawa paramedics said the car left the roadway, went through a fence and struck a tree before rolling over and trapping the two occupants inside.
The driver of the car, a 62-year-old man, had a medical event before the crash and was suffering from stroke-like symptoms, paramedics said.
The woman passenger, also 62, was treated for possible severe spinal injuries and neck pain.
Both occupants are in serious condition at hospital.
