Dan Miller, 22, was struck and killed in the early morning of Aug. 17, 2011 while walking with his friends near the intersection of Bronson Avenue and Somerset Street West.

Miller, an aspiring musician from Stratford, Ont., later died in hospital from his injuries.

Layla Aman was charged the week following for failure to remain at the scene of the crash causing death. She later pleaded guilty to the charge.

Police say she was driving a black Nissan when she struck Miller. A sheared-off mirror was found at the crash scene and police had taken it to a nearby dealership to identify the make and model of the car.

In addition to the jail time and suspended driver's licence, Aman will also receive one-year probation.
