Tires were blown on at least two vehicles on Highway 174 near Jeanne d'Arc on Friday morning, and repair crews are on site.
The area was recently graded to prepare for a final paving job after a sinkhole shut down the highway earlier this month.
Police said that at about 8:30 a.m., tires on at least two cars blew out because of the uneven pavement.
The eastbound lanes of the highway will be closed intermittently as crews smooth the lip between the graded section and the rest of the highway.
The Jeanne d'Arc off ramp, meanwhile, will be closed starting at noon for a couple of hours.
The final paving job is expected to begin at 11 p.m., and be finished early Saturday morning.
