A person of interest has been identified in the Saturday night shooting of a home in Barrhaven, police say.

A single shot was fired into the window of a home in the 100-block of Springton Crescent, near Strandherd Drive and Woodroffe Avenue, at about 9 p.m. Saturday.

"The preliminary investigation suggests it's not a random shooting," guns and gangs Staff Sgt. Mark Patterson told CBC News Monday.

He said six people were home when the shot was fired, including four children.

No one was hurt.

Patterson would not say whether the person of interest or anyone living at the home are known to police.

The investigation continues.
