A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for a man wanted in connection with a triple homicide in the northern Quebec town of Amos.

Three people were found dead in a home Monday afternoon after it was destroyed by a raging fire in the town, which is about 500 km north of Montreal.

Police considered the fire suspicious and are looking for Justin Bresaw, 35, who was last spotted in the west Ottawa neighbourhood of Kanata North on Tuesday.

Surêté du Quebec spokesman Const. Pierre Tremblay said Bresaw was also seen near the Amos home before the fire started. The suspect rented a room in the basement of the home in Amos, he added.

He is considered armed and dangerous, police said, and he should not be approached. People who believe they have seen him are asked to call 911 immediately.

Ottawa police are also assisting in the investigation.

Might be driving stolen car

Bresaw is described as Caucasian, standing five feet seven inches, weighing 153 pounds, with brown eyes and a bald head. He was last seen wearing a red long-sleeve shirt, black pants, black work shoes and carrying a black backpack.

He may also be driving a stolen 2001 blue Honda Civic with the Quebec licence plate 788 GNC.

Ottawa police told CBC News the suspect's vehicle was spotted in the Kanata area by a member of the public. Police said they received more tips Wednesday.

The identities of the three victims have not yet been determined. It is unclear if the victims were killed by the fire or if they were dead before the fire started.

A video posted to YouTube, shown below, shows the flames erupting from the front door of the home as firefighters arrived. The bodies were found after emergency crews extinguished the flames.
