Three people were displaced from their home early Saturday evening after flames tore through it.

The fire broke out in the kitchen at about 4:50 p.m. in unit 102 at 1900 Marquis Ave., a row house development in the Beacon Hill neighbourhood.

All three people in the home managed to get out, and one was treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation.

The rest of the two-storey row house was evacuated as a precaution.

It took firefighters 20 minutes to bring the flames under control.

Damage to the building and its contents was estimated at about $200,000.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
