Man, 59, dies after being struck by pickup truck in westbound lane

A 59-year-old man has died after he was struck by a pickup truck while cycling along Innes Road near Bantree Road, paramedics say.
Paramedics were called to the scene at 9:38 a.m. with a report that a cyclist had been struck. They arrived and found the man had been hit in the westbound lane and had no vital signs.
They tried CPR on the cyclist, but he was declared dead at the scene.
The driver of the pickup truck was not injured.
Ottawa police closed all lanes of Innes Road between St. Laurent Boulevard and Star Top Road for the investigation. The road has since been re-opened.
