Eight people are facing charges after an armed home invasion in Gatineau early Monday morning, police say.

It happened just before 4 a.m. at 815 Saint Louis St., Gatineau police said.

Four people entered unit 2 at the house armed with a firearm, said Gatineau police spokesman Const. Pierre Lanthier. He would not say exactly how the suspects gained entry.

Once inside the suspects gathered electronic accessories, then fled on foot.

A man and woman who were home at the time were not injured, Lanthier said.

Just minutes later, police arrested eight people not far from the scene.

Lanthier said police are not yet releasing the ages or genders of the suspects to protect the investigation.

They haven't been charged yet, but they're facing possible charges of robbery, breaking and entering, threats and more, Lanthier said.
