Firefighters kept busy overnight with 3 fires

Firefighters were kept busy late Monday night into Tuesday morning with three fires.
The first, a possible barbecue fire, started at about 10:10 p.m. at 4 Waterford Way near Prince of Wales Drive and Hunt Club Road.
Firefighters managed to extringuish the blaze before it could spread from the deck. It caused an estimated $6,000 in damage.
The second, an electrical fire, broke out inside Willy's Pizza shop at 102 McEwan Ave. near Richmond Road and the Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway, at about 12:45 a.m. No one was injured and the fire was contained to the pizza shop, which sustained about $85,000 in damage.
The third fire broke out in a home at 18 Elliot Ave. near Main Street and Centennial Boulevard at 1:45 a.m.
One person suffered smoke inhalation and was treated by paramedics after firefighters found a smoking mattress inside a bedroom.
