Boy, 2, dies in possible drowning at Ontario lake

A two-year-old boy from New York State has died Wednesday in a possible drowning at a lake about 110 kilometres southwest of Ottawa.
Ontario Provincial Police said they were called to Little Rideau Lake near the village of Newboro, Ont., at about noon in response to a possible drowning.
The boy was treated at the scene, then transported to the hospital in Smiths Falls, Ont. before he was airlifted to the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) in Ottawa.
He was pronounced dead at CHEO.
Leeds County OPP officers are investigating.
