Two men face multiple charges including robbery and assault after a Sunday morning home invasion in the Bells Corners neighbourhood of Ottawa.

Ottawa police said at about 8:40 a.m. on July 29 two men broke into a home on Forester Crescent.

The two suspects, one armed with a knife, confronted a resident, who fled through a second-storey window.

A second resident was assaulted before also fleeing. Both occupants had minor injuries that did not need additional medical attention, police said.

Two men from Ottawa, aged 22 and 20, were arrested and charged with:

  • Robbery with an offensive weapon.
  • Break and enter.
  • Assault.
  • Possesion of a dangerous weapon.
  • Two counts of mischief.

The 22-year old also faces three charges of breach of probation and two counts of possesion of controlled substances. The 20-year-old is also charged with uttering threats.

Both appeared in court Monday and remain in jail. They are scheduled to appear in court again on Wednesday.
