Police issued a photo of Hussein Mohammad last Thursday after a shooting incident last Wednesday night.

Officers found a bullet hole in a parked vehicle that night near Baseline Road. Two bullet casings were discovered close to the scene. Police said the shots were fired at about 10:55 p.m.

It was the city's 27th shooting incident so far this year.

Mohammad turned himself in to police, accompanied by his lawyer, on Wednesday morning.

Reached by phone Thursday morning, defence lawyer Richard Addelman said it was in his client's "best interest" to turn himself in.

"He's facing some serious allegations," Addelman said.

Additional charges against Mohammad were expected to be announced by police later Thursday.
