Country festival offers exchange for Hoedown tickets

A Toronto-area country music festival is offering to honour tickets bought for the cancelled Capital Hoedown festival.
The Boots and Hearts Music Festival in Bowmanville, Ont., said it would honour general admission and one-day tickets for Capital Hoedown.
Organizer Shannon McNevan said cancelling a music festival hurts the market and shakes the confidence of fans, agents and musicians.
"The crowds they were drawing is very similar to what we were going for so it seemed like we'd be able to come in and offer them an opportunity to get what they paid for," said McNevan.
The festival is scheduled for Aug. 10 to 12, the same weekend Capital Hoedown was to be held. Bowmanville is east of Oshawa and about a four-and-a-half-hour drive from Ottawa.
The offer is intended only for those who have not yet received a refund.
The one-for-one exchange also comes with a $10 service and processing fee and does not include any fees for camping, parking or include any VIP ticket offers.
The deadline for applying for the ticket exchange is Friday, August 3rd.
Among the scheduled performers at the Boots and Hearts festival are Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw, Lionel Richie, Sheryl Crow, Terri Clark, Alabama and Kid Rock.
