Rideau Street lane closures begin today
Section between Dalhousie Street and King Edward Avenue expected to reopen in October

The eastbound lanes of Rideau Street are now closed between Dalhousie Street and King Edward Avenue and they are not expected to reopen until October.
Rideau Street construction closed the street between Dalhousie Street and King Edward Avenue. (CBC)The closure began at about 7 a.m. Monday.
Traffic is detoured along Besserer Street, including several major OC Transpo routes, such as the 1 and 7 routes.
Riders can still catch buses at the usual stops but the routes will be redirected along Besserer to detour the Rideau lane closures.
Some residents have voiced concerns over the detour route, which will see large trucks and buses heading along Besserer.
