An Ottawa school-bus driver is facing a careless driving charge after two buses crashed outside a south Ottawa high school Monday morning.
Paramedics responded to a crash between two school buses at about 8:20 a.m. outside St. Francis Xavier Catholic High School at 3740 Spratt Road. That is near the intersection of Leitrim and Limebank roads.
The CBC's Judy Trinh has learned one school bus rear-ended another but paramedics did not respond to the collision. They were only called after students complained of injuries.
In all, 32 students were assessed for minor neck, back and shoulder injuries after the crash and 27 were taken to hospital in stable condition. All 27 students have since been released from hospital.
Five more students were treated and sent home with their parents.
Police are investigating.
