A family in Woodpark has been reunited with their Congo African Grey Parrot after the bird disappeared from their west Ottawa neighbourhood.
Griffin the parrot had been missing since Sunday night when he fell off his owner's shoulder and fluttered away. Trina Regimbal said she was grabbing laundry in her backyard with the parrot on her shoulder when she tripped, sending the bird out of her yard.
Griffin the parrot is grey with yellowish eyes and a red tail. (YouTube )Regimbal had put up posters with a picture of the grey parrot with yellowish eyes and a red tail. She had said when Griffin does talk, he likes to say his own name, "I love you", "Go Sens Go" and "Hey buddy buddy."
Regimbal said the bird was found safe and healthy by an elderly couple and is back home as of Monday evening.
Regimbal had said if people see the bird they should try to be calm when calling the bird.
"You more or less just need to stand still and keep calling him, 'Come here Griffin, here boy, here boy', and hopefully he'll get the nerve to seek [a] human and go on to that person," she said.
