An Ottawa man is facing several charges after he was caught allegedly driving the wrong way on Highway 417.
The OPP were alerted of a motorist driving west in the eastbound lanes of Highway 417 just before midnight on Saturday night.
Police say that two separate cruisers were nearly hit by the vehicle — one near Carling Avenue, the other near Maitland Avenue.
Officers were able to get the vehicle to stop safely.
The 22-year-old driver has been charged with four criminal counts including impaired driving, dangerous driving and failing to stop for police.
