Ottawa and areas of eastern Ontario are under a wind warning for Saturday as wind gusts are expected to reach 90 km/h.

Freezing rain is expected overnight, which should turn into rain in the morning.

CBC Ottawa climatologist Ian Black says a cold front is expected to move west to east across southern Ontario Friday night and would move through Ottawa Saturday. That will cause the strong winds.

The winds should persist most of Saturday then moderate in the evening as temperatures cool and snow begins to fall.
