The Ottawa police arson unit is investigating a Thursday night fire in a kiosk inside the J. Benson Cartage Centre — also known as the Civic Centre.

Firefighters responded to the arena at Lansdowne Park at 10:06 p.m. and quickly evacuated the building, forcing 30 people outdoors.

The fire was limited to the one kiosk and was out by around 10:15 p.m. Smoke was then ventilated from the building.

There were no injuries and the cost of the damages has not been determined. There was minor damage to a wooden pallet and two vending machines.

There are no suspects, but the arson unit wants anyone with information about this fire to call 613-236-1222, ext 4373.
