The Ottawa Paramedic Service will likely determine the future of one of its own next week after the man was found not guilty of sexually assaulting a patient.

Jean Lauzon, a 26-year veteran of the force, was vindicated Wednesday after two and a half years of dealing with sexual assault charges.

In June 2009, a woman complained he touched her inappropriately while examining her in the back of an ambulance.

Lauzon, who was 53 at the time, has not worked since the claim was made. It is unknown if he would return to active duty.

Lauzon's lawyer, Marie Henein, told CBC News Lauzon is relieved and overjoyed his ordeal is over.
