Civic hospital security guard charged with sexual assault
Dec. 23 incident involved a patient with a developmental disability

A man working as a security guard at the Civic campus of the Ottawa hospital has been charged with sexual assault after an incident involving a female patient with a developmental disability.
Ottawa police's sexual assault-child abuse unit said they laid charges after an investigation into a Dec. 23 incident at the hospital.
The security guard, a 42-year-old Ottawa man, has also been charged with sexual exploitation against a person with a disability.
He was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
Police believe there may be other victims who have yet to come forward and are asking for anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers or Det. Lisa Briggs at (613) 236-1222, ext. 4417.
