A 42-year-old man died in an altercation with three young men at Putting Edge in Barrie, Ont., police say. (Google Street View)Three men from Innisfil, Ont., face second-degree murder charges after the death of a 42-year-old man at a mini-golf course north of Toronto on Saturday.
Bradley Hubbard, of Collingwood, Ont., was reportedly stabbed in the neck with a broken putter in front of his girlfriend and daughter.
The incident happened at Putting Edge, an indoor glow-in-the-dark mini-golf course in Barrie, about 90 kilometres north of Toronto.
Police say a dispute between Hubbard and the three young men began inside Putting Edge at about 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Barrie Police Const. Toni Dufour said the trio — Justin Spring, 18, Mathew Spring, 19, and Jake Workman, 18 — all face second-degree murder charges.
The men are in custody at the Central North Correctional Centre in Penetanguishene, north of Barrie.
Dufour could not confirm reports Monday that the golf club was used in the killing.
“The reports are out there about the weapon being a golf club,” Dufour told CBC News. “Right now our major crime investigators are not making any official statement on any weapon or weapons used until after the post-mortem is conducted."
Dufour said the victim had not known the men accused in his death.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday afternoon.
