Hunter wins central Nfld. Tory nomination

Ray Hunter has represented a central Newfoundland district in the provincial house of assembly for the past 12 years. (CBC)Ray Hunter will be the Progressive Conservative candidate for the district of Grand Falls-Windsor–Green Bay South in next October's provincial election.
The MHA fended off a competitor Rex Barnes Wednesday night, winning the nomination with a comfortable majority.
He defeated Barnes 533 votes to 327.
Hunter has represented the district for 12 years.
Barnes, a former mayor of Grand Falls-Windsor, also sat as a federal MP.
