Ottawa police say they've arrested more than 40 people as of Thursday morning and are looking for 50 more as part of a crackdown on suspected drug dealers in the ByWard Market area.

The accused, ranging in age from 18 to 68, face more than 400 drug-trafficking charges in all, police said. Most of them are men.

The sweep by the police force's street crimes unit is the culmination of a five-month operation called Project Infusion. It aimed to curb the sale of crack, marijuana, ecstasy and OxyContin in downtown Ottawa.
