Police have shot and killed a marauding bear in Ontario for the second time this week.

The latest shooting, revealed Friday, happened Wednesday night in Galway-Cavendish-Harvey Township, just north of Peterborough.

Police say the bear was acting aggressively and had damaged a resident's property and a neighbouring property.

As a police officer checked the area, the bear charged toward him, coming to a halt within a car length, then turned and walked away.

When the animal began stalking the officer and charged again, it was decided to shoot the bear.

On Tuesday in London, Ont., a black bear was shot and killed by police after it spent several hours wandering residential streets before charging at an officer.
