Two people were arrested for vandalizing the Hull-Chelsea-Wakefield steam train early Friday morning.

Copper wires were cut and taken from the century-old tourist locomotive around 4 a.m. while it was parked in the Hull district, Gatineau police reported.

Two individuals, age 28 and 38, respectively, were arrested shortly afterward behind the nearby Domtar factory while burning plastic sheathing. Police said they had wire-cutting tools in their possession.
