Police in Deep River, Ont., are asking the public for help to find a missing scientist who was last seen two weeks ago.

Lachlan Cranswick, 41, is a scientist with the National Research Council and an employee of Atomic Energy of Canada Limited. The Australian native was last seen leaving Chalk River Laboratories on Jan. 18.

Police said Cranswick is 5-10, with a slim build, hazel eyes and brown hair. They said he would likely be wearing glasses and a beige quarter-length parka with fur on the hood. He may also be wearing a fur hat with ear flaps, police said.

Deep River is a small town about 200 kilometres northwest of Ottawa. Investigators are asking anyone with information about Cranswick to call Deep River Police at 613-584-3500.
