Provincial police say they have charged 31 people from Napanee, Ont., and the surrounding area with drug-related offences after a long undercover investigation.

Ontario Provincial Police said they recovered more than $56,000 worth of drugs, including cocaine, crack cocaine and methamphetamine.

In a release, the OPP said numerous undercover drug purchases were made between May and December.

On Monday, eight search warrants were executed in Napanee and the nearby Eastern Ontario town of Deseronto, as well as the village of Odessa, the OPP said.

Of those charged, according to the police release, eight warrants are still outstanding, which would mean 23 people have been arrested.

The charges include various offences under the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Those charged were to appear in court in Napanee on Wednesday.
