Three men were arrested Monday in connection with a shooting last week at a strip club in the Aylmer sector of Gatineau, Que., that left one man dead and another injured.

Police broke down the door of an apartment unit in a triplex on Boulevard des Grives in Gatineau's Hull sector at around 12:30 p.m. Monday to make the arrests.

Daniel Valladeres, 19, of Ottawa, was fatally shot in the parking lot of Cabaret Le Pink, known as the Pink Panther, on Aylmer Road just after 3 a.m. Thursday.

A 16-year-old, also from Ottawa, was injured in the shooting.

Gatineau police Const. Isabelle Poirier said that after the shooting, the two injured people drove to the police station, where they stopped their car in the middle of the road.

The men were then taken to hospital, where Valladeres was pronounced dead.

Poirier said on Thursday that the incident was thought to be gang-related.

Eight men who were not believed to have a direct connection to the shooting were taken into police custody on Thursday and then released.

Police wouldn't say if the three people arrested on Monday were among the eight taken into custody on Thursday.

Gatineau police and the street gang unit of the Ottawa police are investigating.
