Ottawa-area police seize vehicle, player's licence for 7 days

Former Senators goaltender Ray Emery has found trouble again driving his infamous white Hummer in the Ottawa area.
Provincial police on Friday confirmed Grenville County OPP pulled over Emery around 10:30 p.m. ET last Sunday after an officer noticed the vehicle travelling well over the posted speed limit on Highway 416.
The 26-year-old Emery was charged under the stunt driving provisions of the Highway Traffic Act.
Under Ontario law, police are allowed to impound a vehicle if they stop one travelling 50 kilometres or more over the speed limit. Police did not provide information on the speed of Emery's Hummer.
Both the vehicle and Emery's licence have been seized for seven days, and the former National Hockey League netminder would be responsible for any costs associated with getting the vehicle from the impound yard.
Emery spent this season playing for Atlant Mytishchi of the Continental Hockey League (KHL) in Russia after signing a $2-million US deal last July.
He finished with a 22-8-0 record, 2.12 goals-against average and .920 save percentage.
On May 4, 2007, Emery got into a minor accident heading to the airport on Highway 417, dinging the Hummer H2. He was uninjured and signed autographs afterward.
Emery was charged under the Highway Traffic Act and issued an $85 ticket for making an unsafe lane change, according to the Ottawa Sun.
