The union representing OC Transpo drivers remained on strike Tuesday, but another group of transit workers has reached a tentative deal with the City of Ottawa.

The Canadian Union of Public Employees Union Local 5500 agreed Tuesday afternoon on a three-year deal for the 140 garage supervisors, route supervisors and special constables it represents, the City of Ottawa confirmed.

Both city council and union members must still ratify the agreement, and no details will be released until that happens.

The workers had been without a contract since April.

In November, they had voted 97 per cent in favour of striking if they could not reach a contract.
