The number of City of Ottawa employees making more than $100,000 at Ottawa city hall has fallen to 195 from 241 the year before.

But information disclosed Monday under Ontario's Public Sector Salaries Disclosure Act also showed that the number of police officers making six-figure salaries rose significantly in 2007.

The 213 people on the Ottawa Police Service list, up from 177 the previous year, include police chief Vern White and corporate director Debra Frazer, but also includes some ordinary constables, suggesting much of the boost is product of overtime.

On the city side, the highest-paid employee was city manager Kent Kirkpatrick, who earned $275,000, followed by deputy manager Steve Kanellakos, who earned $212,000.
