Relatives of a Carleton University student who disappeared on March 9 drove from the Orangeville-Brampton area to Ottawa on Wednesday to search for the missing teen.

Nadia Kajouji, 18, was last seen in her dormitory room two Sundays ago.

Kajouji's aunts, Candita Mills and Alita Bailey, and her uncle, Norm Bailey, left at 5 a.m. in order to make the 400-kilometre journey to Ottawa.

Mills said the family is not satisfied with the police investigation so far.

"A long time has gone by with really not a lot done," said Mills.

She added that police don't suspect foul play even though she thinks many things suggest it could be.

"She's not the type of person to just take off and go somewhere and not phone. If you knew her, you would know it's not her. It's out of character completely."

Friend got e-mail Sunday night

Nadia's mother, Deborah Chevalier, said she learned just Tuesday that her daughter had e-mailed a roommate on the night of March 9 to say she was going skating and that her daughter's skates were missing from her room.

Her father, Mohamad Kajouji said he is getting increasingly worried, especially considering the cold weather.

"I have lots of hope, don't get me wrong," he said. "But you can only hope for so long."

Nadia's family said the teen was having relationship trouble in the days before she disappeared.

Since then, the family has offered a $50,000 reward for her safe return, handed out flyers and searched the campus.

Campus security officers have scoured tunnels and rooftops for clues, and said they are willing to do more, but are awaiting direction from police.

Police have said there isn't any reason yet to suspect foul play.
