A 14-year-old boy has been charged with mischief in relation to one of more than two dozen hoax 911 calls at Ottawa schools in the past five weeks.

The teen is accused of being responsible for a call made on Oct. 11 at Ridgemont High School, said an Ottawa police news release Thursday.

After being charged Wednesday night, he was released on a promise to appear in court.

More than 29 Ottawa schools have been locked down or evacuated after 911 calls reporting gunmen or bombs at the schools since Sept. 21. There were three on Wednesday alone.

A 15-year-old boy has been charged in one case, while a 16-year-old boy will participate in a pre-charge diversion program after admitting his role in another case.
