Police have confirmed the identities of the man and two women found slain in a luxury condominium in Ottawa over the long weekend.

Alban Garon, 77, his wife Raymonde, 73, and their friend Marie-Claire Beniskos, 78, were found in the couple's 10th-floor apartment on Riverside Drive on Saturday, Ottawa police Staff Sgt. Monique Perras told a news conference Wednesday.

Alban Garon retired as chief justice at the federal Tax Court of Canada in 2004.

The three were likely slain between 9 a.m. and noon on Friday, Perras said.

Autopsies have been completed on the bodies, but the causes of death will not be released to protect the investigation, she added.

Police have received some reports of suspicious activity last Wednesday and Thursday in the building where the Garons lived but are asking the public for further information about any unusual person or vehicle seen in the area on those two days.

Police were called to Apt. 1002 of 1510 Riverside Drive in Ottawa, near Rideau River Park, around 10:30 a.m. on Saturday by a member of the couple's family.
