Girl, 17, and man, 20, charged in Ottawa paintball shooting

A 17-year-old Ottawa girl has been charged in connection with the paintball shooting that left a young woman with a serious injury to her left eye.
Ashley Roos, 21, was struck with a paintball shot from a car while she was waiting for a bus in Ottawa's east end Monday night.
Police also charged 20-year-old Jean-Luc Archambault of Gatineau, who they said was the driver of the car.
He and the 17-year-old girl turned themselves in to police around 9:30 p.m. ET Thursday after being contacted by investigators who were following up on tips from the public, Ottawa police Staff Sgt. Chris Renwick said Friday.
The two accused were scheduled to face aggravated assault and weapons charges in court on Friday.
Police said they had also recovered a paintball gun that they believe was used in the shooting.
"We're pretty confident we know exactly what happened," said Renwick, adding that police are not looking for other suspects and do not anticipate laying any more charges.
Const. Alain Boucher said investigators are also looking into whether Monday's incident was related to two paintball shootings in the same neighbourhood over the weekend.
On May 5, houses were hit with paintballs at Prestwick Drive and des Epinettes Avenue. On Saturday, two teenage girls were shot with a paintball gun at St. Joseph Boulevard and St. Jean Street. One girl was struck in the back and the other in the lower left arm, Boucher said. A third girl with them was not hurt.
Roos is recovering after being struck by the paintball while waiting for a bus near Orleans Boulevard and Lumberman Way in Ottawa's Orleans neighbourhood on Monday night.
