A woman will likely lose her left eye after she was struck by a paintball while standing at an Ottawa bus stop Monday night, police say.
The woman was waiting for a bus at Orleans Boulevard and Lumberman Way in the city's east end around 10:20 p.m. ET when a white or silver car similar to a Chevrolet Cavalier drove by, an Ottawa police news release said.
Someone fired a paintball gun from the passenger side of the vehicle and it hit the woman in her left eye, causing a "very serious eye injury," police said.
The car was travelling southbound and carried at least two people.
The woman was sent to hospital for treatment.
