Gatineau man, 61, dies in 14-vehicle crash

One man died and six people were injured in a 14-vehicle crash in western Quebec Wednesday.

The pileup took place at 2:15 p.m. ET on Highway 148 (Montreal Road East) at Pagé Road in Gatineau's Masson-Angers sector, police said.

Marcel Spencer, 61, who lived in Gatineau's Buckingham sector, died in the crash.

Six other people were sent to hospital, but all had been released by Thursday morning.

Investigators believe dense fog in the area Wednesday afternoon was a major factor in the crash.
