The former firefighter pleaded guilty to eight counts of arson when he appeared in court in January.
His lawyer says Drummond was deeply affected, both physically and psychologically, by a fatal fire in 1997.
Drummond was injured while fighting that fire, and, as a result of his injuries, was unable to continue working at the fire department he had served for three decades.
In court, drummond apologized to the court, to his family, and to firefighters everywhere.
