Stittsville brush fire scorches up to 10 acres
Four firefighters treated for exhaustion after battling brush fire south of Highway 417
Four firefighters were transported to hospital after battling a massive brush fire in Stittsville that scorched up to 10 acres of land Friday evening, according to Ottawa Fire Services.
Between 60 and 80 firefighters responded to the blaze east of Carp Road and south of Highway 417 around 4:30 p.m.
Four firefighters were transported to hospital to be treated for exhaustion but were later released, according to Ottawa Fire Services.
A helicopter was used to help battle the most serious parts of the brush fire. It was declared under control just before 8 p.m.
Ottawa Fire Services said Saturday morning that crews have left the scene after the concern had passed.
