Speed believed to be factor in fatal Gatineau motorcycle crash

A 28-year-old Gatineau man is dead after a motorcycle crash on Highway 50 early Monday morning.

A 28-year-old Gatineau man is dead after a motorcycle crash on Highway 50 early Monday morning.

It happened at about 7 a.m. on Highway 50 westbound in the exit lane for Lorrain Boulevard, said Sûreté du Québec police.

The man lost control of his motorcycle and struck the guardrail. Investigators say speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash.

The victim was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation continues.
