Topley Crescent is near Hunt Club and Conroy roads, in the same neighbourhood where a man was shot twice in the legs Thursday night. Police would not say if the search warrant was related to the shooting or a different investigation, but did confirm it was part of a guns and gangs unit case.

Tactical officers with the chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear and explosives unit began an investigation on Topley Crescent late Friday morning, Ottawa police said. The unit includes members of the RCMP and Ottawa police, and it investigates a range of incidents, including suspicious packages, homemade explosive laboratories and recovered explosives.

At 3 p.m., police re-opened Topley Crescent between Keys Way and Karsh Drive.
