Each year, CBC Ottawa devotes an entire day of programming to a charity drive and this year the station is raising money for the Shepherds of Good Hope.

For so many men and women in this city, The Shepherds of Good Hope is a warm meal on a cold day, a safe place to sleep at night and a chance at a brighter future.

On Dec. 6, CBC Ottawa will become a window into the lives of those who rely on the Shepherds of Good Hope.

Eric, 33, said he got his Christmas wish when recently he moved into St. Andrew's Residence, a supportive housing program run by the Shepherds of Good Hope to help clients transition to independent living.

You can watch Eric's story in the video above.
