Severe thunderstorm watch continues for Ottawa
Environment Canada warning of possible large hail, damaging winds, or heavy rainfall
Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Ottawa and the surrounding area as a warm and moist air mass moves its way east.
Severe thunderstorms are possible for the Ottawa area today, according to CBC climatologist Ian Black.
The Renfrew area west of Ottawa was under a thunderstorm warning earlier Tuesday evening, but the warning ended at 5:31 p.m. as the system moved east.
A severe thunderstorm watch continues for communties rom Algonquin Park east to Cornwall including Ottawa, Richmond, Metcalfe, Kanata and Orléans.
The alert said there is a potential for thunderstorms with large hail, and damaging winds or heavy rainfall.
