Ontario Provincial Police have recovered the body of a 23-year-old Queen's University student from Lake Ontario after he went over the edge of the Wolfe Island ferry on Friday afternoon.
Police said his death is not being investigated as suspicious.
At about 4:10 p.m. Friday, passengers on the ferry alerted the crew to a man with a backpack who went overboard.
A helicopter and rescue co-ordinators based in Trenton, Ont., searched for him on Friday. On Saturday afternoon, OPP's underwater search and recovery unit arrived and continued the search.
OPP said the man's body was recovered from the water around 10:20 a.m. on Monday. His identity has not been released.
A previous version of this story reported the man was 18 years old, based off information from an OPP media release issued Monday. The police force issued a correction later Monday saying the man is actually 23 years old.Feb 01, 2016 9:47 AM ET
