'Scotty Toppers' accused of online harassment in Ottawa
Police received complaints from 13 women across Orleans
A 29-year-old Ottawa man faces a string of charges after allegedly harassing several women online using the alias Scotty Toppers.
Police launched an investigation in May 2014 after receiving complaints from 13 different women across Orleans. They are asking anyone else who may have been harassed by Scotty Toppers to come forward.
Police seized several items after executing a search warrant at a home on Briargate Private, near Innes and Trim roads.

- 2 air pistols
- About 1 kilogram of a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance
- About 12 grams of marijuana
- Multiple scales
- Computer equipment related to online harassment and extortion
- Break-and-enter tools
The man was charged with criminal harassment, extortion, theft, possession of a firearm, possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of stolen property, possession of break and enter tools and mischief to data.
He is scheduled to appear in court on July 26.
