School bus crash sends 5 children to Quebec hospital

A school bus in Val-des-Monts, Que., toppled into a ditch, injuring five children under 10 years old, after the driver lost control of his vehicle, police said.

Five children under 10 years old were injured when their school bus slid into a ditch in western Quebec, police say.

MRC des Collines police said the bus was heading down Chemin Fogarty in Val-des-Monts, Que., a 20-minute drive north of Gatineau, at about 8:40 a.m. Wednesday.

About 30 children were on board when the driver lost control while heading along a curve in the road, police said.

Five children suffered minor injuries and were taken to the Hull hospital, police said.

The children were between six and 10 years old.
