Five children under 10 years old were injured when their school bus slid into a ditch in western Quebec, police say.

MRC des Collines police said the bus was heading down Chemin Fogarty in Val-des-Monts, Que., a 20-minute drive north of Gatineau, at about 8:40 a.m. Wednesday.

About 30 children were on board when the driver lost control while heading along a curve in the road, police said.

Five children suffered minor injuries and were taken to the Hull hospital, police said.

The children were between six and 10 years old.
